The 36-year-old, who played eight games on a one-year deal with the Houston Texans in 2021, compiled 6,212 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns during his 13-year career.
Amendola made a name for himself with the New England Patriots from 2013 to 2017, playing a pivotal role in the team's Super Bowl XLIX and LI titles. He tallied 709 receiving yards and six touchdowns in five postseason runs with New England, scoring twice in the fourth quarter of a comeback 2017 AFC Championship victory.
The Texas Tech product went undrafted out of college and made his NFL debut with the St. Louis Rams in 2009, where he spent four seasons. Amendola also played for the Lions, Dolphins and Texans following his stint with the Patriots. He missed nine games last season with hamstring and ankle injuries.
