The Tampa Bay Rays lost two players to season-ending surgeries, including outfielder Kevin Kiermaier, manager Kevin Cash told reporters Monday. Catcher Mike Zunino will undergo surgery soon, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Both players are in the final year of their contracts with the Rays.

Kiermaier will need hip labrum surgery, Cash said. He hasn't played in a game since July 9. Zunino will have thoracic outlet syndrome surgery, Marc Topkin reported. Zunino hasn't appeared for the Rays since June 9.

In 63 games this season, Kiermaier hit .228 with a .649 OPS. He is a three-time Gold Glove winner in center field. Now 32, he has played his entire 10-year career with the Rays, but his six-year, $53.5 million contract expires at the end of this season.

Zunino, 31, hit just .148 over 36 games at Tampa Bay's second catcher. He's on a one-year, $3 million deal this season.
