Rangers' John Lundstram has dedicated his Europa League semi-final winner to former kitman Jimmy Bell.

Bell, who died at the age of 69 earlier this week, had become a legendary figure at Ibrox over a 30-year stint at the Glasgow club.

And Lundstram, who struck late to put Rangers into the final in Seville, paid tribute to Bell.

Lundstram said: “Words can’t describe how much Jimmy meant to all of us. He was the bedrock of the club and touched everyone.

“I’ve only been here for one season but he took me in and I can’t speak highly enough of him and I just want to dedicate my goal to him, I absolutely love him to bits.

“We can do it, why not? Of course we can."

Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst said: "I think it's very hard to find words. It's been an amazing night.

"We said before the game we're going to do everything possible to make sure we're in the final and I think the players were fantastic, together with the crowd. We made it an atmosphere we needed to overcome this opponent, and yeah, you cannot write a script better than this.

"We are all very proud that we reached the final, and we toasted inside Jimmy for this win."

Rangers beat RB Leipzig 3-1 at Ibrox to advance to the final, winning the tie 3-2 on aggregate. James Tavernier and Glen Kamara both scored before Christopher Nkunku levelled the tie. Lundstram secured the victory and a place in Seville.

They will meet Eintracht Frankfurt, who overcame West Ham in Germany, in that game.
