The Texas Rangers have acquired outfielder Steven Duggar from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for OF Willie Calhoun and cash considerations.
Since straining his oblique during an at-bat against the Mets on April 21, Duggar has been playing for Triple-A Sacramento and is slashing .204/.264/.286 through 14 games. Prior to the injury, Duggar played 12 games with the Giants this season, batting .194/.231/.278. June 23 marked the action day after Duggar's rehab assignment ended.
Calhoun, a left-handed hitter, was designated for assignment on June 5 and optioned to Triple A five days later.
