Rangers striker Kemar Roofe is available for their Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.
Roofe, 29, sustained a knee injury during Rangers’ Scottish Cup semi-final win against Celtic in April.
Manager Giovanni van Bronckorst had initially hoped Roofe would be fit for the second leg of Rangers’ Europa League semi-final against RB Leipzig, but the former Leeds United man has instead missed seven matches due to the injury.
Van Bronckhorst, however, confirmed on Tuesday that Roofe was an option ahead of the final in Seville.
“Kemar Roofe is available, he trained yesterday for the first time,” Van Bronckhorst said. “He will also be training tonight and in the squad.
“Kemar is a boost for us, he is important and I am happy for him as he has been working hard to return. He is there and ready to play a part.”
With fellow forward Alfredo Morelos out for the season, Van Bronckhorst has been forced into wholesale changes in his attack.
Fashion Sakala has enjoyed a spell in the team, and Van Bronckhorst even started midfielder Joe Aribo in attack in the first leg of the Leipzig semi-final.
Roofe, who joined Rangers from Anderlecht in 2020, has scored 16 goals in all competitions for the Glasgow side this season.Rangers striker Kemar Roofe available for Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt - The Athletic View Story
