Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has been voted the NBA's most valuable player for the second straight season, a source confirmed to The Athletic on Monday. ESPN first reported the news, adding that the award will be officially announced this week.

Jokic, 27, averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists in 74 regular-season games. He earned his fourth consecutive All-Star nod.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid were the other finalists for the 2022 award. Embiid averaged 26 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists as the 76ers finished fourth the East. Antetokounmpo put up 29.9 points, 11.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists for the third-place Bucks.

The Nuggets finished sixth in the Western Conference standings, facing the Warriors in the first round of the playoffs. The series went to five games, with Jokic averaging 31 points.

In his first MVP campaign, 6-foot-11 star put up 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game.
