Jurgen Klopp has questioned UEFA’s distribution of tickets for the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid in Paris.

The Stade de France will have a capacity of 75,000 for the showpiece event on May 28 but each finalist has only been given 20,000 tickets. Those range in price from €70 to €690 with supporters also facing rocketing travel costs.

UEFA have sold 12,000 tickets to fans across the world via an online ballot on their website. The governing body say the remaining seats will go to the local organising structure, UEFA and national associations, commercial partners and broadcasters, and UEFA’s official hospitality programme.

Klopp believes each club should have a bigger allocation. He said: “You see the ticket prices, the number of tickets you get. Did I read it right? Only 20,000 for us and they get 20,000 too in a 75,000 (stadium)? That makes 35,000 what? Where are these tickets? They are really expensive too and it’s difficult to get there.

“It’s the only bad thing about this journey. I can’t be more appreciative for what our people are doing. I really hope they can all make it somehow and of course they will create an incredible atmosphere.

“If you don’t get a ticket I think Paris is big enough that you can go there without a ticket and have a good time. Behave yourself but be in the best possible mood.

“If you can’t go there, watch it here. It will be fantastic. It’s what I love about this game. The world will either be red or white. Really cool. It makes it a proper final.

“If you followed us all the time or only one time (away in Europe), I can only say thank you very much. You made it really special. Wherever we were, they made it our ground. The boys won every away game in this campaign which is incredible because we always had so much support where we were.”
