Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost ahead of their Premier League match at Chelsea on Sunday with Eric Dier set to return from a muscular injury.
Dier, 28, has emerged as a key player for Spurs since the arrival of head coach Antonio Conte in November.
The England international has not played for the club since their victory over Watford on January 1, but has returned to training and is in contention to feature against the reigning European champions this weekend.
“We are trying to manage a couple of fresh injuries,” Conte said ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge. “Eric Dier had a good training session for us and is available.”
But Spurs will be without Son Heung-min, who is expected to be absent until after the upcoming international break.
“Sonny not yet,” Conte added. “We have to wait. He’s coming along well but we have to wait until after the international break.”
A win on Sunday would see Spurs move to within five points of Chelsea with four league games in hand.
