Chelsea's head of goalkeeping Christophe Lollichon is departing the club after 15 years.

The senior goalkeeping coach announced his decision via Twitter on Sunday evening, stating: "After 15 years at Chelsea FC, it’s time to announce that I am leaving the Blues.

"From 1st team goalkeeper coach to working with the keepers on loan and the recruitment department, being a part of the club’s success has been an honour.

"Thank you to the fans and everyone at the club."

The Frenchman Lollichon began his career at Nantes in 1985, joining as an academy and first-team goalkeeping coach. He later moved to Rennes, where he worked with former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Lollichon later followed Cech to Chelsea from the Ligue 1 side in 2007. He was promoted to head of goalkeeping at Chelsea in 2016 and played an instrumental role in the arrival of Edouard Mendy from his former club Rennes. The Frenchman spotted Mendy four months after Kepa Arrizabalaga arrived at Chelsea in 2018, remaining an admirer before the Senegal international eventually signed in 2020.

Chelsea finished the 2021-22 season in third place in the Premier League, beating Watford 2-1 on the final day of the league season.
