Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball has a small meniscus tear in his left knee and is evaluating treatment options, sources tell The Athletic. There is hope Ball can play with the injury, but if he can't, he may require a procedure that would sideline him for several weeks.

Ball's fellow guard, Zach LaVine, is progressing with his left knee injury, sources tell The Athletic. There is hope that he will return in the near future — possibly as soon as Wednesday's game against the Toronto Raptors.

Ball has missed three straight games due to his knee injury. The 24-year-old received arthroscopic surgery on that same knee in 2018.

Ball joined the Bulls (28-15) on a four-year, $85 million contract in August after a sign-and-trade that sent Tomáš Satoranský, Garrett Temple and a second-round pick to the New Orleans Pelicans. He is averaging 13 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists for the season.

LaVine played 38 games thus far in the 2021-22 season, averaging 24.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
