Bryan Rust and the Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to a six-year contract extension, the team announced Saturday. The deal — with an annual average value of $5.125 million — would keep Rust in Pittsburgh until 2028.
Rust, 30, was going into this offseason as an unrestricted free agent. He previously signed a four-year. $14 million to stay with the Penguins until 2022.
Rust played 79 games during the 2021-22 season, recording 24 goals and 34 assists. The Penguins lost in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs to the New York Rangers.
