Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Graham Potter has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss his side’s trip to Leicester City on Sunday.

Potter’s assistant, Billy Reid, took Brighton’s pre-match press conference on Friday and will take charge of the Leicester game.

Brighton Women’s head coach, Hope Powell, also tested positive for the virus earlier this week — despite the two teams operating in separate bubbles.

Potter’s side are unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions, including two 1-1 draws against Chelsea, and sit ninth in the Premier League.

After the trip to Leicester, Brighton then face an FA Cup fourth-round tie against Tottenham Hotspur, followed by a league game against Watford.

With 10 days remaining in the transfer window, Brighton have so far signed 18-year-old Kacper Kozlowski from Pogon Szczecin in Poland, while midfielder Moises Caicedo has been recalled from his loan spell at Beerschot in Belgium.
