Alabama received its first commitment in the Class of 2024 on Friday afternoon when Perry Thompson, an unranked wide receiver from Foley (Ala.) High School, picked the Crimson Tide.
Alabama is the first Power 5 school to offer Thompson, who impressed the Tide’s coaches at a camp earlier this month. Julio Jones, one of the top wide receivers in program history, also attended Foley High.
Alabama is off to its typical slow start (numbers-wise) with the 2023 class (only five commitments). The class ranks No. 38 overall but No. 1 in average player rating (96.09).
