Ahead of its biggest recruiting weekend of the year, Iowa landed its 12th commit in the 2023 class and its second offensive lineman.
Cannon Leonard, a 6-foot-9, 265-pound tackle prospect from Gilman, Ill., accepted Iowa’s scholarship offer one day after receiving it. Leonard, who plays at Chicagoland’s Iroquois West High School, is rated as a three-star by Rivals and a two-star by 247Sports. He is unrated on the composite rankings and did not have another Power 5 offer, but he was offered by several Mid-American Conference schools.
Along with his height, Leonard also has a 6-10 wingspan and 10-3/4-inch hands. While raw at the position, Leonard has good feet and plays aggressively.
